Steadfast Biblical Counseling

I am a California transplant to Minnesota who has come to call this beautiful, sometimes frozen, state home. I came out to MN to play basketball in college, married a Minnesota girl, and have happily settled here. We have three children, two boys and a girl. I love reading and have pretty eclectic taste. I'd love to not be another Christian cliche and pick someone other than CS Lewis as my favorite author, but I just can't do it. I can't wait to meet him someday. I enjoy sports of all sorts, getting outside with the family, any type of church gathering, Miel lattes, good music, and my wife's sourdough. Most of my vocational experience has involved working with and caring for people. I have worked in group homes for adults with disabilities, special education for children with emotional and behavioral issues in public schools, church plant contexts, and as a child protection social worker. I have walked through hard times with people from a variety of backgrounds and life experience. I have worked with families in the midst of great suffering and sin - child abuse, sexual abuse, addiction, neglect, abandonment, emotional torment, domestic violence, fatherlessness, homelessness, and all the fear and hopelessness that can come with. I have grown to love the grace and love of the Lord all the more through these experiences. These experiences have all the more reinforced that Christ is the only true hope for all of us and His Word provides light, guidance, solutions, and truth that can be found nowhere else. It is the sufficient source for life and godliness that is missing from so many of the helping professions. I especially see a need for men to get their life and loves in order, know who they are in Christ, and stand up for such a time as this. I have several undergraduate degrees in biblical studies and theology and an MA in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. I have also pursued further certificates and certifications via different biblical counseling entities including: - Level 1 Certificate through CCEF - ACBC Certified Counselor - ABC Level 2 Certified Counselor I continue to learn and grow as I pursue specializations and further certificates through ACBC and CCEF. Through biblical counseling, I endeavor to walk alongside you to help you remain steadfast in the midst of life's problems and griefs by looking to the steadfast love of the Lord in Christ through His sufficient Word. I want to help others taste and see the the Lord is good, understand their hearts a little more, and learn to walk faithfully and obediently in the midst of storms or sunny days. I firmly believe that biblical counseling happens best for those who are in or who are willing to pursue meaningful membership in a local church. As such, I provide discounted rates for churches who are willing to pay for a member's counseling and will partner with me to ensure the best care is provided.
